  • I can’t remember my password. What do I need to do?

    To reset your password, please click on Forgot Password in the Log In section on the top right-hand corner of any Careers24 page.
    This will lead you to a new page where you can follow the prompts to reset your password.

  • Is my private information safe on Careers24?

    Careers24 will never share your personal information without your permission. You also have the following options to control your privacy levels:
    1. Choose an open profile that all recruiters can view.
    2. Choose to block certain recruiters from viewing your profile.
    3. Choose to allow recruiters to ask for permission to view your profile.
    All privacy settings can be changed in your account settings on your Careers24 profile.

  • How do I manage my privacy?

    You can choose the level of privacy you would like to have on your profile. You can either have your profile visible to registered recruiters on the site, or if you choose you can have your personal details invisible. If you choose to have your details invisible, recruiters will have to ask your permission in order for them to view your profile. An email will be sent to you informing you that a recruiter is interested in viewing your profile. This is a good option if you are worried about your company viewing your profile.

  • Can I create an alert designed for my job search needs?

    You can create a Job Alert to inform you when new jobs, based on criteria of your choice, are posted on Careers24. You will receive an email when new jobs are posted and you can choose to have notifications sent to you hourly, daily or weekly. You can set up as many Job Alerts as you like. Sign up here:

  • Why am I asked for my race?

    This information is required in line with the Employment Equity Act. If positions are EE positions then only candidates matching the hiring company’s criteria will be matched against the position. According to the Labour Department the hierarchy for Employment Equity is Black, Coloured and then Indian - Females then Males.

  • What is Careers24?

    Careers24 is an advertising board and online job portal. We provide job seekers with thousands of vacancies that are posted by hundreds of registered recruiters and employers.
    As Careers24 does not fulfill the same function as that of a recruitment agency, there is no intervention from our side between Recruiters and Jobseekers.
    We also provide comprehensive career advice, providing you with the tools you need to make the most of your career and your job search.
    We will assist you with any technical queries you may have regarding the navigation of the Careers24 site, and technical issues you may be experiencing with your registered Careers24 profile.

  • How do I apply for a job on Careers24?

    To find a particular type of vacancy, type in your desired job title (for example ‘Operations Manager’) in the Search Bar and click the green Go button on the right-hand side of the screen. A list of all the available jobs with your chosen job title will appear. Browse this list to find the jobs which best suit your skills.

    You will have to be logged in to your profile to apply to jobs. Once you’ve found a job you want to apply to, click the green Apply button and you will be given an option to send through an application. Please note that many vacancies require you to write a cover letter and attach a CV document before you can apply.

    Once you are satisfied with the information about yourself and would like to proceed with the application, click the green Send Application button.

    You can then view all the jobs you have applied for through Careers24 under 'Application History' in your account.

  • I am interested in an internship

    Companies and recruiters looking for interns will post their positions on Careers24 the same way they advertise for full-time jobs, so browse and search the site for the latest internships advertised, create an account and profile, and apply via Careers24, being sure to submit all documentation as per the advert requirements.

  • How do I get an account?

    You will be asked to enter a username and password.
    Your username must be your email address, and we suggest you enter a password of your choice that is easy to remember and then also save it somewhere safe.
    Next, follow the prompts. You will be asked to complete your profile and upload your CV. Once your profile is completed, and your email address has been verified by you, you will be able to apply for positions advertised, recruiters will be able to get in touch with you (at your discretion), and you can set alerts to receive job notifications of new vacancies that match your skills and experience.

  • How do I browse jobs relevant to me?

    Log in to your account and type in your desired job role (for eg ‘Operations Manager’) in the search block and click the ‘Go’ button in green on the right side of the screen. A list of all the positions available will appear. Browse these to find the jobs which best suit your skills.

  • I don’t know how to verify my email address

    We will send an email to the email address you used to register. In this email, you will be asked to click the Verify Email link in the mail. This will confirm and verify your Careers24 account and allow you access to use Careers24.

  • How do I upload my CV?

    Log in to your account, scroll to the end of your profile page and click the ‘Choose File’ button.
    Select your CV from where it has been saved in a folder on your computer or on a memory stick. Please ensure your CV is in Word format and no more than 2MB in size.
    Next, click on the green ‘Upload’ button to upload the CV to your registered profile.
    If you need to upload more than one version of your CV, make sure the file names are different. If the file names are the same, you will be unable to apply for jobs as the system will not know which version of your CV to send.

  • Why didn’t I receive a response from my job application?

    To be sure that your application was successfully submitted, check the jobs you have applied for via Careers24 site on your profile under ‘Jobs applied to’.
    If the application is listed there, but you have not heard from the employer, you will need to make direct contact with the Company or Recruiter to whom you submitted your application. View our company directory to obtain contact details from recruiters and companies currently advertising on the Careers24 site.
    Unfortunately we are not able to intervene in the relationship between job seekers and employers. We act only as facilitators.

  • I’m struggling to submit job applications via the Careers24 site. What should I do?

    Please check that your Careers24 profile and your CV conform to the following guidelines:
    • Ensure that your profile is at least 80% filled in.
    You will not be able to apply for job roles via the Careers24 site with an incomplete profile. Click the blue edit options next to each section to add information to your profile.
    • Do not upload more than one CV to your profile with the same file name.
    Applications are not submitted when it appears there are duplicate CVs on your profile. Remove the duplicated CV’s and add them again with new names.
    Note: We generate a short CV for recruiters: please leave this on your profile.

  • Everything in my profile is in place, why can I still not apply?

    Some workplaces block access to job sites from company computers and networks. This means that you will have to apply from home or an internet café.

    It is also possible that there is a software issue on the machine you are using and we advise that you, therefore, try another machine or device. You should also try updating your browser with Chrome by clicking here: Please copy and paste the below URL

  • My cover note is not being accepted by the system and I cannot apply for jobs. Why is the happening?

    This may be a formatting issue: please copy and paste a version of your cover note into Notepad (available on your computer), then copy the text from Notepad back into the appropriate cover note/career summary section. Word document format sometimes has additional formatting and this makes it difficult for the system to read.

  • I still need to talk to someone!

  • How do I check that my application was sent?

    Follow these steps to make sure that your application was successfully submitted:

    1. Log in to your Careers24 profile.

    2. Click on the My Profile option in the top right-hand corner of your profile. You will be presented with a drop-down list of options.

    3.Click on Application History, it is the fourth option on the drop-down list.

  • I think I have come across a scam on Careers24

    If you think you’ve spotted a job scam on Careers24 please:

    1. Do NOT respond to the ad
    2. Notify us immediately by contacting us at reportads@careers24.com, so we can take immediate action.

  • Are there international vacancies on Careers24?

    Careers24 advertises a limited amount of job vacancies outside South Africa. To find an international job, simply click the Select Province in the Search Bar at the top of the Careers24 page and a drop-down list will appear. Click on International to find a list of jobs in the country of your choice.

  • How can I change information in my profile?

    If you would like to edit your profile you can click on the blue Edit option next to the selected section in your profile: the section will open and you will be able to edit the selected information accordingly. Once you are satisfied with your changes, click the green Save button.
